Here at Östgötagatan 41, you are greeted with classic food, community, and tradition since 1986.

Östgötakällaren opened here on Östgötagatan in 1986. At that time, this establishment had 3 small rooms without heating, with 3 large single-pane windows. The first two winters, guests sat inside here wearing hats and gloves. But thanks to the warmth of human interaction, the guests still felt very comfortable.

We have truly tried to maintain the old lovely warm atmosphere from 1986. That's why we believe the pub is as well-established as it is today.

In 1994, a major renovation was made to the horror of the regulars. They let us know that we had changed "their living room." But these regulars still come today, and now they bring their adult children.

The neighborhood pub, however, today, due to its good reputation, also attracts visitors from all corners of the world.

This year, Östgötakällaren gets new management. The mission of the new leadership is to preserve the classic spirit, but also to expand the restaurant. Therefore, the restaurant is now being extended with a lovely beer hall called Östgöta Öl-Källare.

One flight down, you can now sit and enjoy the same delicious food and drinks, but the spaces are also better suited for bar hangouts, gatherings, and After Work, etc.

The food is basically the same as it was in 1986. Classic and well-prepared, served with heart at affordable prices. Our most popular and talked-about dishes are oven-baked pork knuckle with sauerkraut and dumpling, classic schnitzel, shoemaker's box, or how about fried camembert.
